Instead of looking at a poster or searching the Suhoor (Suhur or Sehri) and Iftar time online, you can get reminded as a notification on your devices, be it a smartphone, a tablet or a computer.
All you need is the Google Calendar app.
Install the Google Calendar if you don’t have it already.
Download from Google Play Store for Android
Download from Apple Store for iOS
Step 1:
Go to this link to add Ramadan 2020 Calendar for Dhaka, Bangladesh. Click on “Add”. You might need to Log In to your Google Account if you haven’t already.
Now, your web version of Google Calendar has all the Ramadan calendar integrated and it’ll look something like this.
Step 2:
To add the calendar to your phone or tablet, go to your Google Calendar App. Then Settings>Show More>Ramadan Calendar 2020 (for Dhaka, Bangladesh).
Step 3:
Turn on “Sync”. You can also change the calendar color from this page too. Now, Go to the Calendar App home and check whether the “Ramadan Calendar 2020 (for Dhaka, Bangladesh)” is checked or not from the left menu. If it is not checked, make sure to tick the checkbox.
And that’s it. Now, you’ll be notified during Sehri and Iftar. You’ll see the timetable on your calendar app too.
If your calendar app doesn’t show all dates on one page like mine and shows only one date on a page, go to the menu from 3 bars (≡) in the upper left and choose “Schedule”.
To make it more accessible, you can add a widget on your home screen, as I did.
Setup automatic notification for your devices
To set up notifications on your devices for Suhur & Iftar, Go to Setting and then click on “Ramadan 2020 Calendar (For Dhaka, Bangladesh)”. There you’ll find options to add notification 10 minutes, 1 hour, or at the time of the event before the event. You can even customize the time yourself.
A complete timetable for other districts can be found in this PDF file from the Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh.
